Specific Committee Charges AY 2005-2006

1. Review preamble to the University Committee portion of the Faculty/Staff Handbook including a review of the procedures for changing committee make-up and charges in conjunction with the Faculty Governance Committee

2. Clarify membership designations for University Committees in conjunction with Faculty Governance Committee

3. Review the consultative process between the Committee on Committees and the Faculty Senate Executive Committee regarding the nomination of Senate officers

4. Review procedures for soliciting faculty preferences regarding membership on committees

Standing Committee Charges as of AY 2005-2006

1. Represent the interests of the faculty in the structure, functions, and membership of University Committees

2. Review university committees to determine if (l) existing committees are necessary; (2) their charges, memberships, and administrative oversight are appropriate; and (3) new committees are needed

3. Working jointly with the Executive Committee, nominate candidates for senate offices

4. Nominate members for all university committees

5. Review strategies to maintain effective student participation on University committees
